OK, so I am new to this, but though it would be a great way to keep everyone up to date on the Martin family happenings, particularly now that Decker is here.
We have so enjoyed these first 10 weeks…yes 10! How the time has flown by. We had so many visitors and so much love shown to us and decker that it has really been overwhelming. God has really blessed us so much. He is faithful to fulfill His promises!
Decker has been a great baby! He is on a very predictable eating/playing/ and sleeping schedule. He started sleeping for 8 hours at night when he was only 4 1/2 weeks old. And he has got to be the happiest and most content baby I have been around. I’d like to think that our secret was using the Babywise method, but I think alot of prayers have gone into it too. However, any new parents or planning to be, get that book, it makes complete sense and really has given us confidence in taking care of him. Decker is changing in his looks and learning new things every day. His newest things are sucking his thumb occasionally, cooing/screaching, attempting to copy us when we sing, grabbing for things and curling his tongue. He enjoys tummy time, especially on his spinning ladybug that great Aunt Helen and Uncle Tom got for him.
He is already trying to spin himself around. I think we are going to have a mover on our hands before long.
As for Sam and I, I am transitioning back to being at work ok. It is comforting knowing that family is taking care of him and that I am home on Fridays. Sam is looking for a way to be at home, so be in prayer for us about that. With some cutting back and a possible upcoming promotion for me, he could probably work part time or not at all and we’d be ok. We are planning a cruise for our 10 year anniversary, so we are looking forward to that. Otherwise, Decker is our only news and let me tell you, he is our biggest and best accomplishment ever!
